Reiki is passed on through an "attunement." The attunement is like having a radio frequency tuned into the recipient's body. Traditionally this is done by a level three teacher. We have done attunements on adults, children, pets and trees and remain open to your needs. Attunements can be done remotely on a case by case basis.

The three traditional degrees or levels of Reiki taught through this center and the majority of the classes's are done on a 1on 1 basis. The striving purpose of the center is to put Reiki into your daily life not you into ours. Once you have gone through the attunement you are part of the linage and our thoughts, but free to go out and practice or use it for personal reasons.

The actual attunement process take very time with the majority being spend on discussion the process and what to do and expect from each attunement. One can expect after the traditional three degrees a cleansing period during which any physical, emotional, mental or spiritual blockages, and any old negative energy is brought forward and released over a period of 21 days. After this period you can complete the next level or degree.

As well the model for the DC Reiki Center has changed over the years from being oriented to a place, to being oriented to the individual. DC Reiki Center emphasis is on teaching Reiki to you. We have preformed attunements on a roof top in Adams Morgan, on the lawn of Mission Pavilion or any where else that one feels comfortable.
